Privacy statement
Dealing with personal data
CAS International (CAS) endorses the growing need of citizens to control their personal data and the communication they receive. Personal data from website visitors, email newsletter subscribers and donors (see note) are therefore handled and protected with the utmost care. Personal details are always kept in a secured environment. We adhere to the demands as laid out in the Personal Data Protection Act.
Which details and for which purpose
When you visit our website, become a sponsor or send us a gift, once or multiple times, certain details are left with us. These could be personal details. Depending on the situation we will process details such as:
- name, address
- date of birth
- place of birth
- age
- gender
- e-mail address
- phone number(s)
- IBAN
- number membership
- information filled in on an ‘open field’ in a form
Purpose
We process the above mentioned details for one or more of the following purposes (depending on your relation to CAS):
- to render the required services, i.e. sending you goods, information brochures
- for the administration of your membership as a sponsor
- to analyse your history as a sponsor
- to combine your personal details with publicly available information in order to help us to approach you accordingly
- to learn how we can optimize our services, products, or information
- to keep you informed on our work
- to ask you for financial or other support
- to enable us to fulfil our obligations that are the result of our mutual agreement
Payment details
If you issue a (continuous) debit authorization, we will process your IBAN to receive the donation. If you make a separate donation to us by yourself, we will record your IBAN so that we can recognize any subsequent gift as a gift from you. When you donate with iDeal or your credit card, this is done via Adyen, this is a Payment Service Provider. They take care of the contact between our donation platform and your bank or credit card provider. We will not see your log-in or credit card details. Adyen only tells us whether your donation was successful and makes it available to us.
Response information and e-mail
In order to optimize the content of our e-mails, we record the response (open and clicks) to our e-mails at the individual level. If you no longer wish to receive our digital newsletters, you can unsubscribe by means of a link at the bottom of each newsletter.
Inspection and removal
You can request access to the information we collect about you or have it corrected or removed at any time. You can submit your request by letter, with your name, address, place of residence, telephone number and a copy of a valid proof of identity. You can address your letter to: CAS, PO Box 1312, 3500 BH, Utrecht.
Security
CAS ensures the appropriate organizational, technical and physical security of its systems, in which your data is stored. In this way we make sure that your data is only accessible to persons who are authorized to do so by virtue of their position. And that the data are only used for the purposes for which they were obtained and therefore compatible purposes.
Mailing
All information you enter in our electronic forms is sent via a secure connection. As a result, the data exchanged between you and our computer(s) is unreadable for others. If we ask you to send us personal details by mail, we always deliver a pre-printed envelope. This way you can be sure that your data will end up at the right address and that nobody can read it.
Time limit for storage
We do not keep details longer than is necessary. We use a standard term of 10 years. That means we will delete your data 10 years after you were last active. In case a different period is needed we will inform you. Excempt are details we have to keep because we are required to do so by law, such as details for the Tax Revenue Service.
Analysis visitor behaviour website
Through Google Analytics, we collect anonymised information about visitor behaviour on this website. This way we can see how website visitors use the website. We use this information to make informed decisions about the design of our website. We also optimize the operation of the website in order to better serve you.
To enable careful processing, we have signed a processor agreement with Google and the collected data are anonymised and encrypted. Furthermore, all the options Google offers to ‘share data with Google’ are turned off and we do not use other Google services in combination with the Google Analytics cookies.
If you do not want your anonymized data to be sent to Google Analytics, please use the Google Analytics Opt-out Browser Add-on. This prevents information about your visit activity from being shared with Google Analytics.
Follow-up visit to website
CAS collects information about your use of our website using so-called remarketing pixels and similar tools from Facebook, Google and Bing. The data collected in this way is provided to these companies, who use the information collected by them on behalf of CAS to show you targeted CAS advertisements. If you do not appreciate this, you should refuse the placing of cookies by our website.
Provision to third parties
Your data will only be provided to third parties if this is necessary for the purpose for which they were obtained; for example, to send you a letter or to call you. It has been recorded in writing that the executing party may only use your data for the agreed purpose and then destroy it. You will therefore only receive mail, email or telephone from CAS and not from others. If third parties are called in for the execution of actions, such as sending letters or carrying out a call campaign, we always send the data in a secure manner. Moreover we may have to supply third parties with details in case required to do so by law.
Links to third party websites
Our website also contains links to third party websites. Other conditions may apply to these sites. CAS is not responsible for the content of these sites and / or for any software or files that you would download there. The use of these links is at your own risk.
Access and removal
At any time you can ask us to have the items we have on your details to be corrected or removed. You can ask us to do so by letter. The letter should contain your name and address, phone number and with it we require a copy of a valid proof of identity. This letter should be sent to: CAS, P.O. Box 1312, 3500 BH, Utrecht (Netherlands).
When you have sent us such a request we will make sure this is being processed within 4 weeks. If we can’t handle the request within these 4 weeks we will inform you.
Changes to the privacy statement
CAS reserves the right to make changes to this privacy statement. The last change took place on February 28, 2023.
