Investigation into hunting dog kennels
In 2021-2022, CAS International, together with the Spanish organization AnimaNaturalis, conducted research on the welfare of hunting dogs kept by hunters in Spain. We investigated the kennels of hunters at 29 different locations.

We found hunting dogs living in their own excrement and relying on contaminated water in their drinking bowls. According to the veterinarians who participated in our research, the dogs displayed behavior indicative of long-term captivity. Chains also restricted their movement, and they showed signs of poor health, such as lameness. Below, you can view footage from our investigation into the kennels.
