Traditionally, a bull would be chased and killed by hundreds of men on foot and horseback armed with lances, during the local festivities of Tordesillas, Spain, on the second Tuesday of September. This year, though, the traditional Toro de la Vega, planned on September 13, will not be allowed to take place.

Recently, CAS International attended several activities, both in the Netherlands as in the bullfighting countries. The goal is to inform people in different ways and increase public consciousness about the fact that bullfighting is cruel and must end.

Most people are not aware of the fact that horses are used during bullfights, again and again. During the bullfight they are confronted with stress, they see the suffering of the bull and smell blood and death in the arena. Sometimes they themselves get injured and die.

The San Fermin festivities in the Spanish city of Pamplona end this year with 60 dead bulls that were killed during cruel bullfights. For 8 days, runs with bulls (6 daily) were held in Pamplona.
