The end of bullfighting in the autonomous Spanish Balearic Islands is getting closer! As part of our campaign ‘Mallorca Sense Sang’ (Mallorca without Blood) a proposal to end bullfighting has been approved by the parliament of the Balearic Islands with 31 votes in favour, 21 against and 3 abstentions. With this result the parliament initiates the last stage to make the prohibition official. With a prohibition the Balearic Islands will become the third autonomous state in Spain with a ban on bullfighting.

‘Mallorca Sense Sang’ is a campaign of CAS International and AnimaNaturalis, supported by HSI. 29 municipalities have declared themselves against bullfighting in the Spanish Island until now. The total number of anti-bullfighting municipalities is now 33!

The list of anti-bullfighting municipalities now numbers 147 worldwide. There are now 123 municipalities in Spain that declared themselves against bullfighting. We have reached now more than 147,000 signatures. You can be part of the end of bullfighting in the Balearic Islands by helping us so we can collect more signatures: please help us by signing and sharing the petition!
