On May 16, 2016, there will be elections in the southern Indian state of Tamil Nadu. The BJP, the party that currently governs India, uses the populist promise to bring back bullfights to Tamil Nadu.

At the moment, all animal fights in India are forbidden by law. However if they succeed to make bull fights legal in Tamil Nadu, it would set a precedent and animal fights of all sorts could be allowed in the whole country.

In our petition, we ask the BJP not to allow any form of animal cruelty, especially not bull fights. Allowing animals fights would show India of as a backward country which is not in line with the advanced economic policies Prime Minister Narendra Modi has announced.

We want the Indian government to maintain the laws to protect animals from cruelty including bull fights. India needs to know that the world is watching! So please sign and share our petition.
